Terms & Conditions
Welcome to British Self Publisher. By accessing our website or utilizing our professional editing, cover design, typesetting, and global distribution services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. Our Ethical Commitment
British Self Publisher operates as a British service provider, not a vanity press. Unlike vanity publishers, we commit to the following principles:
- 100% Author Rights: You retain complete ownership, copyright, and publishing rights of your manuscript, designs, and files at all times.
- 100% Royalty Share: We do not take any royalty commission or sales cut from your books. All sales revenues from retail platforms go directly into your private publishing accounts.
- Transparent Fees: You pay a flat, upfront fee for our service hours. There are no hidden subscription costs or termination fees.
2. Client Materials & Copyright
You guarantee that you own the full copyright of any manuscript, images, or assets you submit to us. You represent that the content is original and does not infringe upon any third party's intellectual property or violate any laws. You grant us a temporary, non-exclusive license to edit, format, and prepare the files solely to execute your order.
3. Payments and Cancellation
Our service rates are calculated and quoted on a project basis. Work begins once the project agreement is signed and the deposit or full upfront payment is settled. You may cancel our agreement at any point before production begins for a full refund minus any hours already spent on developmental review or administration.
4. Limit of Liability
While we strive for absolute typographical and format perfection, the final sign-off and approval of the book's print-ready PDF and EPUB files rest with you (the Author). British Self Publisher is not liable for retail listing delays, retail platform policy changes, or loss of profits arising from publication timing.
5. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
